For the first time, Explorer will offer an ST model. It’s the newest offering from Ford Performance and is the most powerful Ford Explorer yet. The aggressive black-accented appearance, specially tuned 3.0L EcoBoost engine and sport-tuned suspension deliver a performance-infused driving experience that only Explorer ST can deliver. The Explorer ST section is located within the Ford Performance Vehicles area.
No-Compromise Hybrid
The all-new Explorer Limited Hybrid is a no-compromise Ford hybrid SUV designed to offer a balance between performance, capability and efficiency. With a 3.3L hybrid powertrain that features a 10‑speed modular hybrid transmission, available Intelligent 4WD and cleverly packaged lithium-ion battery, the Limited Hybrid can do everything an EcoBoost-equipped Explorer does.
Commanding Intelligence
Explorer is smart and connected. Standard Ford Co‑Pilot360 Technology and available Ford Co‑Pilot360 Assist+ include confidence-inspiring driver-assist technology. SYNC 3 is enhanced for 2020 with a new look and feel for the center-stack touchscreens. In addition, select driver-assist features are now managed via the center-stack screens.
Also new is the 10.1″ portrait center-stack touchscreen, which can be set in full or split screen view.
The Power of Rear-wheel Drive
The all-new rear-wheel drive architecture offers a new level of performance and capability, providing customers the choice of the standard 2.3L EcoBoost I‑4 engine, available 3.0L EcoBoost V6 or 3.3L Hybrid V6 powertrain and up to 5,600 lbs. of maximum towing capacity(3). Each engine is paired with a new 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift capability and can be equipped with Intelligent 4WD featuring the Terrain Management System (TMS) with up to 7 selectable drive modes.
