RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build relationships & create customers for life.
  • Assist customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses.
  • Approach, greet, and offer assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
  • Describe all optional equipment available for customer purchase.
  • Perform high-quality, professional, and knowledgeable presentation and demonstration of new/used vehicles.
  • Learn to overcome objections, close sales, and perform all other steps of the sales process in accordance with company standards.
  • Be the expert. Know the in’s & the outs of product offerings, optional packages & latest technology
  • Follow-up with buyers to ensure referral business.
  • Direct report to the General Sales Manager regarding objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analyses

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a sales position
  • Experience working in a dealership is an asset. Training is provided
  • Comfortable with compensation based on commission sales
  • Enthusiastic with high energy throughout the sales workday
  • Outgoing with a friendly personality, especially while handling objections & negotiating pricing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A natural ability to speak to people and the desire to provide excellent customer service.

Service Advisor

Summary:

The Service Advisor welcomes customers and gathers the information required to identify and define the vehicle repair and maintenance work they require. They sell maintenance services and organizes the work schedule, while maintaining excellent customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcomes the customers arrival and obtains information about their cars.
  • Explains the nature of the work performed and all the costs to the customers.
  • Ensures that customers are informed of all recommended maintenance, promotions and services provided by the dealership.
  • Open and close work orders
  • Is responsible for telephone requests for appointments and inquiries about work underway.
  • Arranges appointments for maintenance services. If possible, obtains information about the customers and their cars before they come to the dealership.
  • Sells lubricating, safety inspection and other services of a similar nature or any other maintenance required by the manufacturer.
  • Accurately records the car problem experienced by the customer, on the work order.
  • Distributes tasks to the technicians.
  • Test drives the car with the customer, as needed
  • Prepares a detailed and accurate estimate of the cost of labour and parts.
  • Determines the time frame for completion of the work; verifies this with the shop dispatcher, if necessary.
  • Contacts customers if there is any change in the estimate or the time frame for completion of the work.
  • Verifies warranty coverage on the vehicle to be repaired before work is begun.
  • Ensures that department forms, lists of repairs and pricelists are up-to-date.
  • Is an active participant in the quality control process

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a similar position or in the automotive industry an asset
  • 1-2 years’ working experience in a customer service and/or sales position.
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong work ethic, professional, good attendance record and positive team attitude.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, able to provide drivers abstract and criminal background check

Licensed Automotive Service Technician

About Us

The Downey Ford service Department in Saint John, NB is the largest shop in Southern NB. It has 24 work bays stocked with state-of-the-art tools and diagnostic equipment.

Summary

The Automotive Service Technician inspects, maintains and repairs automobiles. They execute basic care maintenance like tire rotations and oil changes, diagnosing complex problems, and planning and executing vehicle repairs.

Job Duties

Duties of the technician include but are not limited to:

  • Regular scheduled vehicle maintenance
  • Road Tests
  • Provincial safety inspections, CVI inspectors license is an asset.
  • Computerized diagnostics for engine, transmission, ABS and other vehicle systems.
  • Engine repair and overhaul
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions
  • Drivetrain repair including: transmissions, differentials, drivelines.
  • Chassis, Steering and suspension diagnostics, repair and maintenance
  • Brake service, diagnostics and repair
  • Electrical fault finding and repair
  • Work with co-workers and managers to solve problems and complete tasks efficiently
  • Provide top quality, honest and efficient repairs
  • Communicate with Service Advisors

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Automotive Service Technician
  • Must have valid drivers license, able to provide drivers abstract and criminal background check
  • Direct work experience in automotive repairs and service.
  • You must have your own tools
  • Experience with computer diagnostic software is an asset.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure, Strong attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications.
  • Should be able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team with the ability to manage your own time and work flow.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of automotive parts and their functions.
  • Must maintain all required OH&S certifications, must ensure a safe workplace and are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others in the workplace.
  • Required to provide valid NB drivers license, drivers abstract and criminal background check

  • Very busy shop
  • Must be able to lift to 50lbs, twist, turn, bend and stand for long periods of time without restriction
